An Easy Solution

Don't you just love getting Christmas cards in the mail. Seems like every day now another beautiful card arrives. But what to do with them after the holidays?
THIS is the perfect, easy solution. She simply took cardboard and decorated it for covers, punched holes with a Cropadile (that thing will punch through anything!) and presto--you've got a binder! Won't it be fun to flip through years from now?

Hero Stamps + Distress Stains

I came across this really nice video showing off one of the new stamps we got in from Hero Arts this past weekend AND how to use distress stains. The distress stains are new and we've had alot of questions on how to use them. Joy does a great job showing both products off here. Plus she has a fabulous Austrailian accent which is nice to listen to!!

Give the Gift of Scrapbook Skills!

So the days are flying by...and you still have someone on your list that you just don't know what to buy for Christmas. How about a gift certificate for a class at Scrapadoodle?

The perfect place to start is Scrapbooking 101 of course. Heather takes students through all the fundamentals and she offers this class once a month. Here is a sample of the page students will make next class.
Heather does a wonderful job teaching all about albums, adhesives, trimmers.....everything you need to know to get started. Students leave with a completed 2 page layout -- all they need to bring is the gift certificate you bought them and some pictures. EASY!!!

Memory Box

This week a new box of Memory Box dies arrived. We are big fans of these beautiful dies.If you are not familiar with them, here's the scoop. These dies are paper thin--they come in an envelope!
They work like any other die--just place on your die cutting machine's plate, put cardstock on top and roll it through. Here I am using the Big Shot die machine but it also works on a Cuttlebug.
And here's what you get! These dies are so intricate and beautiful!! Ready to add to your scrapbook page or card.

Travel Gift

How fabulous is this mini book? This would be the PERFECT gift for anyone you know that travels. Even if they don't scrapbook this would be awesome---you complete the book, then all they have to do is add pictures!!!It all starts with one of the most inexpensive items ever--plain old chipboard.
Cover all pages with travel themed paper.
This line of paper is from October Afternoon and yes, we have it in our travel section in the store. Don't you just LOVE this plaid:
After you've covered the pages and embellished with twine, ribbon, stickers, etc... the last step is to bind. So easy on the Zutter. It punches through even the heaviest chipboard with ease.
We have the wire binds in all types of colors and sizes. There is still plenty of time to put one of these together for someone special!

Pink

Because Christmas cards don't always have to be red and green right?
I seriously love these 2 examples of that....PINK for Christmas:

These are stamped with Hero Arts products...getting you ready for our Hero Arts event next weekend ;-)

Reindeer

This beautiful Sizzix die is a classic--you know the ones that never go out of style, the ones you use year after year. Here's a tag and a page made with him (her?)
The patterned paper used here is part of the Simple Stories line and we've got a HUGE selection of it in right now.

Tree stamp

Like you, I like to buy stamps that can be used for more that one occasion. This Hero Arts tree stamp is a perfect example of this. I used it at Halloween to make the orange card and now here is the winter version using the same stamp:This is just the trees stamped with Versamark ink, then heat embossed with white powder. After that, I just used blue distress ink over the top. The embossed trees will resist the distress ink--one of my all time favorite techniques. The sentiment is from the Christmas Penny Black set. Glitter compliments of Miss Martha of course :-)
The shape of the sentiment section was done using a Tim Holtz edge die and I just cut one side off to make it fit flush along the edge.
Stay tuned because I have a feeling you'll be seeing this stamp again.....possibly for spring??!

12 tags of Christmas

Day one of the 12 tags has begun! If you love learning new techniques, Tim Holtz's 12 tags is for you! The background of this tag is so fun to do. I never would have thought to apply embossing ink right onto an embossing folder but that's what we did and it really works! Step by steps are on his blog of course. As of this morning, we did have both the Noel and the Pine Cone die. Lynne will be doing her best to keep us in stock on all the goodies he uses on his tags so keep checking in!
