Another beautiful Carla card

Pretty color combination here. Carla used the Sizzix die below to create the ornament. She embossed the background with an Sizzix embossing folder.

What we've been creating...

This is one of the most beautiful projects I've seen in a long time. Christy took this set of plain drawers and covered them with one of the newest paper lines from Basic Grey. She added all kinds of fun embellishments and came up with:Love this little crown from Tim Holtz she added with some bakers twine:
Also, this fun set for Thanksgiving. All cut on the Cricut:

This is a page I created as a reminder that Copic markers are not just for card makers!!
I love this Hero Arts city scene stamp and knew it would be perfect for a page on our trip to Chicago. So I colored it in with Copics and used it as the main embellishment on my page:

Smash books

This was the hot item of the day as I was working Saturday. We got in a really large shipment of books and accessories for you Smash book lovers! I love how this concept appeals to all ages--I spoke to people from probably 12 to 60-something and everyone is excited about these! Some are using them as travel journals, some for housing all those pictures you tear out of magazines, some are just writing their thoughts in them.
The hardest decision is which one to pick!

Great Idea of the Day

Seriously, how great is this? If you are thinking of creating handmade Christmas gifts how about this. Take a rolling pin (vintage or brand new!) and wrap it in beautiful scrapbook paper. Tie on a handmade tag, include a recipe, a cookie cutter and some ribbon and you've got a gift with a true personality!

The Kris & Carla Challenge

So what happens when you give a cardmaker and a scrapbooker the exact same supplies to work with?
Well, one Saturday we decided it would be a fun challenge!
Here's what we came up with:

Carla made this amazing card:
She is so good at the little details too. Check this out....she used some of the paper to line her envelope (it is those little touches that make her the master!!) AND she continued her design onto the the INSIDE of the card....again, the little things change a nice card into an AMAZING card!
Here is the companion scrapbook layout I made with all the same supplies. Now I am not a double page layout kind of girl but it would be EASY to do this for those of you who are. Just mirror image the arrangement on your right side page or flip the layout top to bottom to create a cohesive look.
All papers/stickers are the new fall release from Bella Boulevard.
The leaves are die cut using the new Tim Holtz Sizzix leaves.
Those awesome little die cut circles are from Memory Box. We are sold out for the moment but Lynne has ordered more so if you are interested, let us know and we'll call when they get here. The leaf stickpins are from Little Yellow Bicycle, they come in a pack with 4 different colors.

Let us know what you think and we may try this challenge again!!
