Karen Burniston is a popular designer and papercrafter who focuses primarily on designing pop-up and interactive techniques for Sizzix. She has been published in all the major papercraft magazines and has contributed to numerous idea books. She teaches pop-up classes at stores and events throughout the world. Her family consists of John, a fellow engineer, twin children, Karl and Emma, and one dog who thinks she's a cat, Lucy.

Watch this video on Sizzix Pop Up Dies, so fun and versatile.  We have some in the store, too.  "Pop" in and check them out.  They are already a "best seller"!!!

Classes to attend this week…

Here's a run down of this weeks classes…

Tuesday, July 3rd is Simple Stories with Chris and Carrie.  You'll create a fun Chipboard Album, a page layout and 3 cards.  1 to 3pm. 

Saturday, July 7th from 2 – 3:30 is Carla's Flowers.  You'll create a tag with Cherry Blossoms and a White on White Card.  We'll be using the New Memory Box Dies and Flower Punches.

Sunday the 8th is Hero Arts/Sizzix Cards with Linda from 1 – 3:30pm.  Class repeats Tuesday the 11th from 5:30 to 8pm.  You'll create 4 cards using Hero Arts Stamps.  You'll be stamping, dry embossing, using die cuts.  Lots of fun in this class!

4th of July Party Decorations

• Carla's Cherry Blossom Tag is now on display with her White on White Card.   Her Flower class is Saturday, July 7th from 2 – 3:30  $15  You'll create both!!!

New! Elements 10 Classes

Learn Photoshop Photoshop Elements with Jeff, any version.  This will be a series of classes with Class 1 beginning Tuesday, July 24th from 5:30 to 8pm.  A hands on class learning everything you need to create with Elements.

Carla's Flower Class

Are you ready to create a White on White card?  Its perfect card for Weddings, Anniversary's and just right when you need a Sympathy card.

We'll also create a tag with Vellum Cherry Blossoms on a branch using the same flower punches.  Stay tuned, photo to come.

New Class added to Calendar…

Join me on Saturday, April 28th from 1pm to 3pm.  We'll be making the Hershey Bar Pouch with Vellum Flowers and a card perfect for Mom with Vellum Flowers.

We're only making 1 hershey bar pouch and the designer paper is subject to change, due to availability.  But I did want to show you how you can change the embellishments.

I hope you can come and enjoy this fun class.  Bring a regular sized Hershey Bar.

Carrie's Pages is today, April 10th from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8pm.  Stop in to make 1, 2 or all 3 layouts.

Next up is Sue's Shabby Ruffled Flower Mini Album and Card.  Saturday April 14th, 1 to 3pm and she's offering it again on Tuesday, April 24 from 10:30 to 12:30.

Heathers Scrapbooking 101 is April 18th, from 6 – 8pm.  Remember you'll make a beautiful two page layout.  Picture coming soon!!!

Stayce DeWid from Tattered Angels has 2 classes on April 19th.   Tattered Tips and Techniques 2:30 to 4:30 and the Bucket List Album from 5 to 8pm.

What I'm excited about!

Today we start a new feature on the blog where members of our team tell what they excited about in the store.
Carrie kicks it off----- here she is with the We R Memory albums. Why does she love them??

First, look at all the colors they come in. So pretty sitting on your shelf....everyone will be attracted to them and want to look through them.
She also loves that you can buy all different refill configurations. Of course the typical 12 x 12 layout type, but also divided pocket pages. Some you can just slip in your 4 x 6 pictures and use it as a hybrid scrapbook/photo album.

Carrie will be showing exactly how to use these THIS SUNDAY with the first in her series of calendar classes. She'll use these albums and the Simple Stories line of paper. Make a 2 page layout each month and at the end of the year, you'll have a priceless record of what went on in 2012!!
