October 1

I ran across this idea and it seemed perfect to share with you all on the first day of the month! This gal challenged herself for one month, to do something creative every day.
So she made this this little binder and here are just a few peeks. Each day she used different supplies, and the theme might be completely different each day as well.....
Now I KNOW all of you have plenty of supplies.....so why not put together something like this??

Put those supplies to use and make something beautiful every day!!

If you are interested in seeing every one of her days here is the link...I don't know her but I am so in awe of this idea, just had to share!

Make & Take Saturday

We did this tag as a make and take yesterday and everyone seemed to like it so I thought I'd post it here AND we are going to do it again next Saturday (9/25) !! If you haven't ever tried heat embossing, this is a good chance to give it a try -- for free!
We started with this basic manila tag:

Next step was to stamp the leaf image with Versa Mark ink. We sprinkled the leaves in Zing clear embossing powder, tapped the excess off, and then heated it with the embossing gun.

This is what you are left with....almost looks wet after it is heat set.....

Next we used 3 different colors of Distress inks. These inks dry slowly so they are great for blending colors like this. We simply alternated colors around the edges of the tag, overlapping and blending into the middle.

As you blend the inks, you begin to get an almost watercolor effect.

Then we just stamped a sentiment.

These tags would look great on a gift bag, on the front of a card, or as a bookmark. This week we got in envelopes that fit them exactly so they can just be cards on their own! Give it a try at home or stop by the store and make one!

Nice to see some product in the store for the boys in our lives! First is this new Cricut cartridge: My Mind's Eye has sent us some gorgeous lines and I love the subtle color palette of this--isn't that little pennant cute. And the brads are awesome--they have all different designs, some that match the plaid paper.
