Tin Stars

So we got these tin stars in and we have them in 3 different sizes. O.K. so what to do with them.....?
And look what Chris has done--how cool is that? She used the new Basic Grey birthday papers and modge podged them onto the star. Then with the Cropadile she punched some holes for the big brads and added some ribbon. She mounted hers on a stand but there is also a hook on the back if you choose to hang it on the wall. She added a few pictures of her adorable granddaughter and voila--a work of art!!

Sketches

I've been meaning to share this website with you.
If you like to work from sketches or if you are just fresh out of layout ideas this site is so cool:
http://www.pencillines.com/2008/03/index.html

It's an outstanding resource for ideas. I really love seeing how each person takes the same sketch and comes up with such different results. If you are familiar with the 2 Becky Higgins Sketches books this is the same idea only online and constantly updated!

Here's an example. The basic sketch is this:

Here is one example of a layout done using that sketch as a starting point:

A Big Thank You!

We just wanted to say THANK YOU to everyone for helping us have a hugely successful Garage Sale this past Saturday. The first few hours were WILD and crowded but you guys were patient and we appreciate that! I think everyone was so happy to get such great bargains that all in all it was a great day.

Overlays

We got this cool new product in from Fancy Pants. They are transparent overlays, die cut into shapes with a little glitter added for fun. Pictures don't do these justice and we've got all kinds of them. Here are a couple of my favorites:

New Books

Two new books in today and this one's big! Donna Downey's new books are here. These are a continuation of her "Yes, It's A Scrapbook" series. Donna is one of the most talented scrapbookers out there and these 2 books are just as great as her previous ones. She is also one of my favorite bloggers--she has a very entertaining site and you can visit it here:

Babies!

We have so much new baby product in. Our baby section is overflowing again! This new line from Making Memories is called Animal Crackers. The girl line is Ella and the boy line is Jack. Beautiful papers and tons of matching embellishments.
I'm totally in love with these little journaling tags. The come in a little spiral book and we have both the Ella and Jack to match all the papers.

We've had this paper in for awhile.....I call it postage stamp paper.....and I walk by it every time I work going "man I love that paper" but I couldn't figure out what to do with it. So I'm at the Making Memores blog and I see this. Just beautiful isn't it? As they say on American Idol...she rocked that paper and made it her own!!! Love it.
Here are some of the cards Cynthia will be teaching this Saturday from 10:30-12:30 (click to enlarge). She told me she made the bottom left one with crayons! Sign up to find out how. I am wild for the little pearls on the upper right card. They are just little stickers basically but they add the sweetest little touch. If you want to learn some new stamping techniqes, these Hero Arts classes are the place & we do these once a month.

Sarah's fabulous album

I just had to show you this completely awesome album Sarah put together. She used the Maya Road chipboard house album and the new Daisy D paper line. It's about her daughter's favorite playmates right now. It is a work of art! It just shows how great you can make these simple chipbord books look. I keep thinking how much her daughter will cherish this when she is older and that's what it's all about isn't it?!

Pregnancy Paper

We recieved this really fun line of papers and embellishments for your pregnancy pages. I love the trimester paper.

Tons of new punches in!

We are really loving these new punches. We all have typical square and circle punches but these have scalloped edges--how cool is that!
Use these to create flower petals--we have two different sizes:

These are for punching corners and then you can also punch around the edge of the pages as well:
